Easter Egg-O-Rama

Easter is right around the corner so I thought I'd throw a couple of super egg dying tips at ya.

1. Make your own dye
1/2 to 1 tablespoon of food coloring
2 teaspoons vinegar
Drop those into a cup that will be large enough to accommodate your egg. We used to use coffee cups when I was a kid.
Fill your cup with water about half way.
Gently give your little egg a bath in it.
The longer it bathes the darker it will be.

2. Color on your eggs with crayons before you drop them into the dye. The wax will resist the dye.

3. Wrap rubber bands around your eggs before you drop them into the dye. When you take the bands off you'll have a cool striped egg.

4. Marbled eggs.
1 tablespoon of oil
1 tablespoon of vinegar
1 tablespoon of food coloring
All 3 in a coffee cup, then fill with water about half way.
Stir around then quickly drop in your egg.
Take your egg out and pat with a paper towel.

5. Natural dye
Boil your eggs with your dye source and a little vinegar.

6. Get creative
Use bubble wrap, corrugated cardboard, anything with a raised pattern.
Paint the patterned surface with acrylic paint.
Roll your egg over the surface.
Bubble wrap will give you cool looking dots.

Here is something for you or the kiddies if you need a time waster.

Have fun!
