This is something I have wanted to do but I hate to sew. Better yet, sewing hates me. Once I read THIS I knew it was something I could totally do! Plus I had everything on hand. I didn't buy one supply for my coffee sleeves.
Felt
Embroidery thread and a needle
A pattern(I searched the web, printed one, altered it a bit)
Imagination
Cut out two pieces of felt with your pattern. Also cut out what shape your going to put on, mine was a heart.
I started stitching my two pieces of felt together at this point. Once I got the bottom stitched together then I placed my button and elastic band(pony tail holder). It just gave me a better idea of placement. Your stitching your elastic with the machine to the back piece of felt only. That way you don't see that stitching on the pretty side(the front).I'll be linking my coffee sleeves to THESE fine linky parties.

I've been wanting to make a coffee sleeve for sometime and this was the push I needed . My opinion is that coffee sleeves make great wrist cuffs as well....dual function and you will always have a sleeve handy when you get a "cuppa" . I would wear this one with pride . Great tutorial !
Love it! I've been wanting to try making a coffee sleeve, but I don't sew...I might have to break down and just do it!
This is so cute! I love how you used different textures, it really makes the sleeve so unique. Nicely done!
Thanks for linking to the linky party because I have been looking for a great idea for teachers for valentines day and now I have one! This would be great, wrapped around a mason jar with a little starbucks card tucked inside. Love it!
Cute and simple, but I love the little details, like the hand stitching and the heart pocket. Well done! Thanks for sharing ... I'll be linking.
