Camp Fire & Sun S'Mores

We are working with what we have here.  Heat advisories and triple digit temperatures.  So what do you do?  Make fire. Fake fire, please.

We head out this morning looking for sticks and rocks.  We have plenty of those.

Then set about hot gluing them to a circle of cardboard.

I squeezed hot glue, they stuck them on.

 Happy with our fire ring we moved on to fire wood.  Placing sticks and gluing as we went.

It's starting to look like a camp fire!

Orange tissue paper makes great fire.

Make cuts on a 3-4 inch strip of tissue then roll it up.  Add fire until it makes you happy.

Proud camp fire maker.

We all know what goes best with a camp fire.  S'Mores!

We made pockets of foil to hold graham crackers, mini marshmallows, and dark chocolate chips.

Today our "fire" was the sun.  We placed them in a high, ant free area in direct sun for 30 minutes.  Sun S'Mores!  What can I say?  We are making the best of this oven-like weather.

PS.....I will be sharing this summer fun{HERE}

Saw you on Thrifty Decorating - I LOVE, LOVE this!! I always like crafts that kids can help with that aren't just made from paper plates and construction paper. :) This one's going in the book for things to do on a rainy day!! I can see it paired with the living room tent and some story time already!!

Following to see what you're up to next ~ Adrianne
